Land, Katherine Ann (nee Vaught), age 54, beloved wife of James, loving step-mother of Leha Schutte, Perrie Land and Mike Hall, grandmother of Morgan, Jordan, Zachery and Nicole, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2004 with family at her side. Kathy is the daughter of Peggy and the late Carl Vaught, the devoted big sister to brother Mike Vaught and sisters Ann Miller, Lynn Holman and Nancy Adamson and a loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be missed by her family members and friends, especially "her Debbie". The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8PM at the Strawser Funeral Home, 9503 Kenwood Rd., Blue Ash. Services 10:30AM Tuesday at the funeral home with committal services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Ruda, James Stephen, age 89 died peaceful at home in Blue Ash, Ohio on April 2, 2004 surrounded by his loving wife Goldie (Connie) of 63 yrs. and family. He is the beloved father of Diane Smith and equally beloved father-in-law of Dwight Smith. He is survived by his grandchildren Krishanna Peganov, Robert and Tina Smith and Jeffrey Smith. Jim was a retiree of General Motors Parts Division. He is the organizer of the 199th Ordnance annnual renions that have continued to meet for the past 56 yrs. He was honored by the mayor of Blue Ash for his dedicated work to the veterans of WWII in a 1999 proclamation. He also leaves behind his loving sister Ann, age 93, niece June Newsom of Kenwood, OH and nephew James Knabe, of Wilmington, Vermont. Preceeding him in death is his loving sister Mary Lucking and Theresa Stinson. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 8221 Miami Rd., Madeira, OH 45243 starting at 1:30 prior to a 2:30 memorial service celebrating Jim's life. The family is requesting in liew of flowers that donations be made in Jim's memory to St. Paul United Methodist Church or Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Rd., Blue Ash, OH 45242. We praise God for the blessing of his life and the memories of him that will NEVER die.
