June Lee Mills (nee Mehne), 88, of Maryville, Illinois (formerly Collinsville) born May 23, 1920, died peacefully February 6, 2009. She attended the First Baptist Church in Collinsville. She taught business and worked as a guidance counselor in Granite City, IL.

Preceded in death by husband William M. “Bill” Mills, parents Edward and Hazel (Schenck) Mehne, brother Byrnes Mehne, sister/ brother-in-law Virginia/Kenneth Heffner. KERN Florence M., 89 of Cincinnati, OH. passed Sunday Jan. 25, 2009. She was the loving wife of Herbert R.(Joe) Kern. Mrs. Kern was a member of Montgomery Assembly of God Church and a retired Tax Examiner for the Internal Revenue Service.
Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Judith Ann (Jim) Roberts. Two sisters, Grace Arlene Gray and Leora Frances Gartner. Seven nieces and two nephews also survive. Mrs. Kern was preceded in death by her parents, Guerney H. and Rachel Boyer Swauger. Three brothers, Burl, Clarence, and Ellis Swauger.

Carl Victor Bloomer of Blue Ash, OH. died on January 14, 2009 after a two year battle with cancer. Carl was born in Eubank, KY December 20, 1936 to Richard and Vertie Bloomer. His mother is still living in Somerset. He has two brothers, Jim and Don, and preceded in death by his sister Marilyn. Carl moved to Cincinnati and met Lela England in 1958 and was married May 27, 1960. They raised two children, Carl Richard and Kenneth Lee. He has four grandchildren Benjamin, Jessica, Ariel, and Alison. His family will remember Carl Victor finding a way to fix anything around the house, taking Sunday afternoon bike rides with his kids, taking weekend trips to Somerset to work on the farm, and most of all his infectious laugh. He wasn’t afraid try anything from flopping on the dance floor at both sons’ wedding to learning how to ride a motorcycle when he retired. Carl, our lives will be less full without you here but we know that you’re in a better place.

A. Craig Kennedy, 90 of Monroe, OH. formerly of Montgomery passed Tues. Dec. 30, 2008. He was the widower of the late Florence Wilkison Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was a graduate of Western Reserve University and attended Harvard Business School. He served for 28 years on the Sycamore Board of Education, and was on the Ohio School Board Association for 12 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran, while in the Army he served as a US Army Captain for five years. He was a Retired Government accountant for General Electric. Mr. Kennedy and his wife Florence were long time members of Blue Ash Presbyterian Church and later moved their membership to Monroe Presbyterian Church where Mr. Kennedy was a current active member.

Survivors include one daughter Lynne (Bill) Schumacker, three son's, Ronald C. (Elaine), Jack (Anne) and Richard W. (Susan) Kennedy. Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. One sister Margaret Marriott and one brother, James G. Kennedy are left to mourn his passing.

Anna "Pauline" Kelty, 91, resident of Maysville, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008, at Maysville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Maysville. She was born November 19, 1917, to the late James and Anna (Cassidy) Kelty. Also, preceding her in death were two brothers, Harry D. Kelty and Eugene J. Kelty and two sisters, Kathleen (Kelty) Kelsch and Mary Helen (Kelty) Simpson.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Ron (Martha) Kelsch of Villa Hills, KY., Jo Ann (Eddie) Hay of Augusta, Larry (Beth) of Cold Spring, KY., Eugene (Peggy) Kelty of Warren, MI, Patricia Higgins of Detroit, MI and Loretta McKenna of Jupiter, FLA. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews including Jacqueline (Ron) Mercer of Maysville and Jim (Lisa) Simpson of North Carolina.
Pauline was a dedicated employee of January & Wood as Secretary for 28 years and retired in 1982 after 16 years as Secretary at Emerson Power Transmission. She was a devout member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral Mass. Burial will follow at St. .Patrick Cemetery, Washington, Ky. Serving as pallbearers will be Eugene Kelty, Jr., Ron Kelsch, Larry Kelsch, Jim Simpson, Ron Mercer and Eddie Hay. Mr. Piepmeyer owned and operated his own business, Bobs Auto Service in Madeira for many years prior to retiring. He proudly served our country as a United States Navy Veteran.

Burns, Beulah (nee Rue) 78 of Silverton, OH. passed away Sunday Dec. 14, 2008. The widow of Roy Lee Burns and the daughter of the late Darnell and Anna Bell Drury Rue. Mrs. Burns was of the Baptist Faith and retired from telephone sales.

Brose, Donald G., 82 of West Chester, Ohio completed his life Tuesday night, December 9, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Donald was the devoted husband of Jeanette (nee Ball) Brose, loving father of Carolynn Menke and husband Jim, David Brose and wife April, Gary Brose and wife Susan, and the late Janice Brose, the grandfather of Amy Torres, Celecia Smith, Melissa Menke, Kelsey Taylor, Graham Gearhart, Bethany Brose, Shannon Brose, Joe Lenzer and great-grandfather of Christian Torres and Ryann Taylor. Wayne Wilkinson, a Cincinnati music educator and former Baldwin organ/keyboard
performance artist, died on Thursday, November 6 from complications following
heart surgery. Mr. Wilkinson was 64. Wayne, together with his wife Lenore now
two years deceased, were active supporters of local area arts and music
education organizations and frequent attendees at Cincinnati symphony and
theater events.

Mr. Wilkinson was most recently associated with the Cincinnati Music Academy
in Kenwood as a business partner along with Paul McCready and Amy Immerman, and
instructor of piano and keyboard, specializing in improvization. He was a lover
of jazz and pop stylings, and his arrangement of the Henry Mancini piece
"Charade" appears in multiple teaching publications. An active member of OMTA,
Mr. Wilkinson was webmaster for CMA, JME and OMTA, as well as database manager
for JME.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1944 and educated at Illinois Institute of
Technology in Chicago, Mr. Wilkinson became an accomplished organist and worked
for the Baldwin Piano Company as a touring representative of Baldwin organ
products. Later, he developed an interest in graphic design, in which he was
employed at local area companies and in his own consulting business.
Friends and associates will remember Wayne for his irreverent wit, his sharp
intellect and love of jazz and literature, but most of all for his lifelong
devotion to his partner in life, Lenore, and his great enthusiasm for excellence
in music education. This was expressed in particular in his contributions to
Junior Music Experience, founded by his wife Lenore and family friend Linda Henn
Bergholz in 1982. With Wayne's assistance, JME became and remains a unique
Cincinnati organization of local area piano teachers dedicated to the
development of piano students at all levels in a supportive environment.

Wayne is survived by relatives of his wife Lenore in Minnesota, Montana and
Nebraska, a niece and nephew in Texas and the Cayman Islands, his cats Murphy
and BC, and by many friends, neighbors, and fellow music teachers who have all
showed their love and support in the last weeks of his life.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 7, at Church of the
Saviour, 8005 Pfeiffer Rd. from 2 - 4 pm. Reception following at Wayne's home,

LINDER, William H. (89), formally of Kenwood/Madeira, Ohio, passed Friday, October 24th, 2008. Born September 27th, 1919, William was the son of the late Henry and Matilda Linder. Mr. Linder proudly served his country in WWII in the Army/Air Corps. He was a member of Kennedy Heights Presbyterian Church, Montgomery Masonic Lodge No 94 F. & A. M, American Legion and very active, as a member of the Shrine, contributing over 7000 volunteer hours, with the Cincinnati Shrine Children’s Burn Hospital.

As a Salesman, William (Bill) spent hours on the road and at work, however, always made time for his family either helping in sports, scouts or enjoying time in Elk Rapids, Michigan on vacation.

Harvey was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War in 1950 – 1951.

Catherine “Pat” Smith, 87, formerly of Falmouth and Dry Ridge, KY, died April 29, 2008 in Inverness, FL. She was a World War II Navy veteran and an entrepreneur of small businesses including the Carlsbad Nursing Home and the Falmouth Rest Home. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Falmouth and St. Williams Church in Williamstown, KY. Survivors include a son Randall Smith and daughter-in-law Kay Parsons Smith of Crystal River, FL, daughters Tricia Schild of Batesville, IN and Melanie Bingham of Cleveland, OH, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas W. Cahill and Catherine “Carrie” Melrose Kelly Cahill, sisters Melrose Jacobs of Falmouth and Jane Green of Cincinnati, and brothers J.W. “Bill” Cahill of Butler and J.F. “Pete” Cahill of Williamstown. Visitation will be held Saturday May 3 at 10:00 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Demossville, KY followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Internment will follow in the church cemetery.
